Velma from Scooby Doo

We hated Scooby Doo as kids. The show had two qualities about it: old and cheap.

Regardless, Velma was always the favorite. Go Velma!, we'd cheer. You'll be loved someday!

Nowadays everybody likes Velma, so it's not cool anymore. She is but a distant memory to us... as is made obvious by these drawings.


Jackie makes a valiant attempt, but her Velma seems to have fallen into an episode of Daria. Points for nailing the square glasses, though!


An oddly inaccurate one from Joe! He got the colors right, but... that hair! Joe is not a true fan.


My rendition is pretty eerie. It's like Velma's ghost guided my hand to draw her. Looks like we've got another winner on our hands, gang.

Space Ghost

Our first from-memory challenge is Space Ghost. Here's my (Meredith's) rendition:


I went for the iconic talk show pose. I tried to get the emblem right with varying results. I was thinking of Star Trek or something.


Joe did a good job of capturing Space Ghost's ghost form. Very dramatic. But he loses points for failing to wrap the mask around his face.


But Jackie went straight for the classic heroic stance. You can't beat that.

Winner: Jackie's is the clear winner today. She nailed the cape color, which brings the entire thing home. Congratulations to Jackie.
